BARANGAYS IN BACOLOD CITY


A barangay also known by its former Spanish adopted name, the barrio, is the smallest administrative division in the Philippines and is the native Filipino term for a village, district or ward. Barangays are further subdivided into smaller areas called puroks. In place names barangay is sometimes abbreviated as "Brgy".

  • Downtown Bacolod/City proper(CBD) - The most important district of all is the city proper where is the you can found the most of city's attractions like the Public Plaza, San Sebastian Cathedral, Negros Museum, Negros Provincial Capitol Building and Lagoon etc., the city proper contains over 41 barangays.
  • Singcang - the home of the former Bacolod Airport and the location of Goldenfields Commercial complex.
  • Estefania - home to Bacolod's new city goverment center.
  • Alijis - where Bacolod Memorial park and St. Jude Thaddeus church is located.
  • Punta Taytay - is where Villarosa beach is located and one of the summer spot of Bacolod.
  • Granada - where the first settlement of Bacolod was founded.

Other districts include Taculing, Banago, Bata, Granada, Alingalan etc.
